This is just a condensed version of the directions I gave that I am reposting so that they are all together and easy to find.
Just a reminder, don't save your fonts to the font folder in the control panel as your computer will start to go REALLY slow when you get anything more than about 500 fonts. All you have to do is make a font folder and then to use the font, before you open the cutting program open the font folder that you made FIRST. Then you can have as many fonts as you like without slowing your computer down.
I use The Font Thing to keep track of all my fonts (I have about 2000 so I can see what they look like very easily). Open that program and then you can pick your font..... ONCE you pick your font open the font up (a page will pop up showing you the font with the writing of the sentence of the big red fox....) You can then open up the program that you want to use and the font will be there in your True Type font list. Even with using the font thing you don't want to install them into your folder, rather just look at them through the font thing. If you install them in the Font Thing, they are once again using the main memory of your computer and will be installed in your font folder (the one through the control panel). I have downloaded a handful of fonts through my control panel, but those are the ones that I use most often. So, that in my font folder there are only about 100 total, but on my computer I have currently downloaded about 2000 fonts.
The font thing is a very dowload too.
you can get more information and the download is in the upper right corner. http://members.ozemail.com.au/~scef/tft.html
